7mph 3/15 1/30

I LOVE running! LOL! OK so today was a running day! Did my HIIT program, none of my sprints were below 5.5mph, in fact only my first one was 5.5, the others were 6.0mph then after each 5 minute segment the last 30 second sprint was split at 6.5 for 15 seconds and 7.0mph for 15 seconds, then on my last minute sprint to end the first 30 seconds was at 6.3mph and the last entire 30 seconds was at 7mph!! What a rush to actually run that fast for 30 seconds! and for more than one time! In total I ran at 7mph 3 times for 15 seconds and 1 time for 30 seconds! Have I mentioned that I LOVE running! LOL! Sorry I guess I did! Ate my 23 points today and 1 activity point. Thought I could afford that one activity point since I earned 5 of them!

Weekend

Well lets start with yesterday's weigh in. A whooping .2 I can hardly contain my excitement! Well, at least it was a loss! Was gone all day yesterday after my meeting helping Bruce hang some crown molding up for a friend then today I have been on the go all day, planned to go to the gym but didn't get there in time before it closed! Just now getting around to getting online and posting, of course it seems like I am just talking to myself so I guess there was no big hurry! On to another week!

7MPH!!!

OH MY GOODNESS! I ran today at 7mph! OK it was just for15 seconds but I did it!! Wednesday when I ran my sprints were 5.0mph to 5.5mph Today I thought I would "test" myself on that! Most of my 30 seconds sprints were at 5.5 The last 2 sprints of each segment I ran at 6.0mph Then on my very last one minute sprint I did this 5.0mph for 15seconds, 5.5mph for 15seconds, 6.0mph for 15 seconds, the I was going for 6.5mph but I pushed the button too many times! LOL got up to 7.0mph for 15 seconds! I felt like a hamster on a wheel my short legs were moving so fast!! WoHooo!! It felt amazing!! Can't wait to do it again!

So tomorrow is weigh in day! I have had a great week eating and working out! But, I am still nervous! Wednesday, Thursday and Today I really bumped up the workouts so I am really sore, especially my legs---which in the long is a good thing the whole fat turning into muscle thing! But, short term no so good, sore muscles=water retention=weight GAIN! So I guess we will see what happens tomorrow on the scale!

I have really started noticing a difference in my body! Even though the scale is slow moving I am really seeing some fat reduction in a lot of places! If I could only not dwell on the scale number!?!

Power Running

So today I did day 2 of HIIT with my running routine! WOW! I get way more out of those intervals than just the straight running. I did 3 different 5 minute segments of jogging/sprinting intervals. I was planing on 1 minute walks to recover between each set but I needed 1 minute and 30 seconds before I was ready again. So here is what I did. Walked 3 minutes, jogged 2 minutes, 5 minutes intervals of 30 seconds sprinting and 30 seconds jog, then walked 1 1/2 minute, jogged 30 seconds, 2nd 5 minute intervals of sprinting/jogging, 1 1/2 minute walk, 30 second jog, 3rd 5 minute interval of sprinting/jogging, walked 1 1/2 minute then i finished off with 2 minutes of jogging and 1 full minute of sprinting, then walked 2 minutes to cool down and stretching! Its was amazing! I love it!! I am only running 22 minutes instead of the 25 I was doing before but nearly half of that was sprinting so it makes up for it I think! LOL! I pushed it up to 5.5mph tonight my short legs were a MOVING! was going to try for 6mph but chickened out! Maybe next time! Right on track with my points today too so I am feeling good tonight!

I'm Back

I have now started my new job. I have not done well on eating or exercise as I have been sick again for over a week. I have a very nasty and very contagious chest congestion that is going around and seems to hang on forever. Hopefully, I will be back to normal soon. I really wanted to get a jump on the new routine, but am learning patience again. I am eating at the office this week and most of the lunches are the Smart Ones meals or Lean Cuisine's, so that will help.

All Alone

Where are you guys??? I have been deserted! This isn't any fun with out you all! Hope you all come back soon!

Today was a fairly good day! Ate on points plus a few extra activity points because I felt hungry and weak, but that could have been the cold I am fighting! I did make it to the gym for 30 minutes of weight training, then I was going to go out to ride my bike, but instead I just did an easy 30 minutes on the elliptical. I say easy because I left it on the lowest tension possible and didn't push it! Thought since my cold is a product of allergies it wouldn't be wise to go outside to ride so that is why I did the elliptical instead. If there is one thing about Texas I do not like it would be spring time! The air is SOOOOO bad, I get sick every spring from allergies! Oh well, just going to push through it and keep going because this time last year I couldn't do a thing I had no energy to do anything at all and was in the process of finding out I had cancer. So now nothing is going to stop me not even a springtime allergy head cold!

HIIT

HIIT-High Intensity Interval Training. I have been doing alot of reading on this lately. This seems to be the way to loose body fat! Regular cardio at a constant steady pace eventually your body gets used to that and doesn't burn fat. HIIT is short spurts of low, medium and high intensity in a short amount of time to burn maximum fat! So I gave it a try today as it was my running day, so instead of just running at a steady pace for 25 minutes I spent that 25 minutes walking(very fast) for a few minutes then spent 10 minutes of 30 second SPRINTS!(wow I was going fast) and 30 seconds jogging, walked again for a few minutes then did another 10 minutes of Sprint/Jog intervals every 30 seconds. Eventually you start increasing the High intensity intervals to longer times. It was awesome! Great workout and it really seem to make the time go by faster! Its recommended that you do this for 20 minutes no more than 30 minutes each time for only 3 days a week. Too much will hurt not help! I am looking forward to the next running day so I can do it again! The straight running was starting to get boring making it even harder! I have new motivation now!

Today I did NOTHING! Just chilled out and relaxed! Partly because I haven't really felt so good today and had no energy to do anything! So I decided to listen to my body and not push myself! Ate good today though, right on track with points and had all my water plus a little bit more! Tomorrow is a whole new day and I will be ready for it! Even though Spring Break is over and I have to go back to work! Bummer! But just 10 more weeks and its SUMMER VACATION! WoHooo!! Everyone have a blessed week~!

Diovan and Down

Well I was hoping to maintain this week! I did a little better than that! I lost .4! Considering the week I had I will take it!! The biggest news though is this......
I AM OFF DIOVAN! For those of you that don't know what that is, its the high blood pressure meds my doctor put me on last year! I have officially been taken off them by my doctor my blood pressure is down enough that I don't need them anymore! WOHOOOOO!!!!!!!

Back on Track

Well I have manged to be on track all day today! Hopefully it will be enough for tomorrows weigh in! Today for exercise I went running, was also going to ride my bike but after riding it the last 2 days my posterior end needed a break! LOL! So again here we are tomorrow is the big day!

UGH!

Man when will I learn! Started off good! Light healthy breakfast and lunch, the problem was they were both light enough and then we had some expected things come up so it was hours later before I had a chance to get anything else to eat so I was STARVING! and when I get that way I can't control myself! So I had a Big Mac and Fries! UGH!! I guess it could have been worse because as light as my breakfast and lunch were I had points for the Big Mac and half the fries! Which then forced me to go ride my bike for 5 miles to earn the points to "pay for" the other half of the fries to break even! But I still feel guilty! And this week has been so horrible it sure doesn't help much!

MidWeek Exercise Good Eating No So..

So let's get caught up on the past week. Saturday was the worst ever for eating! Totally out of control, got in one 30 minute walk and that was it. Sunday was just as bad as Saturday for eating. Way too much of very bad things. Got in 2 30 minute walks that day. Monday was back on track ate on points and got in a 30 minute run and 30 minute walk. When running I felt like I was going to be sick from all the eating on the weekend but I pushed through it and finished! Tuesday off track eating but not even close to what I did on the weekend. Exercise I got in 1 hour of Walk Away the Pounds, 30 minutes on the elliptical and 30 minutes of pilates. So here we are on Wednesday, on track with points ate exactly my daily points and no more. Got in 30 minutes of running and 40 minutes of riding my bike outside! Not looking forward to this Saturdays weigh in, I am hoping all the extra workouts will off set the bad eating so I at least maintain, not looking for a loss just praying for no gain!!

Tough Week Ahead

This is gonna be a tough week for me to stay on track! My parents are visiting while I am on spring break! So there is gonna be extra eating and less working out! I am going to try my hardest to keep focused and not gain any weight. Off to good start with exercise Mom and I went for a walk this evening, food wise not so good! Determined to make it better tomorrow!!!

I only wanted .8

I would have loved to have more but my goal today was .8 because that would have gotten me to 10 pounds gone!! I did it! I lost exactly .8 today! Wohooo! Also been thinking of changing my weight goal from 145 to 130. 145 is what my doctor recommended and that is what I am shooting for as far as weight watchers goal for lifetime membership but I personally want to see 130. I am changing it on here to 130 but once I get to 145 I will see how I feel then!

OK, its not much but at least it's a down, .4 lbs down this week. I didn't do so good on points and can't seem to make myself go back to the gym. Not too sure whats going on in my head, but I'll get back then the pounds will come off, I know they will. Still wish there was an easy button for weight loss. LOL

Time Again

Well its that time again! Its weigh in time in the morning! I was feeling pretty confident this morning that I had a loss but tonight that confidence is gone! I walked for 30 minutes today but that was it. I intended on doing the elliptical but never followed through. I am a little sore this week but mostly just exhausted I have no energy to do anything. So I blew it off and now I feel like I missed that last chance for a good loss in the morning..as always time will tell! Good Luck to you all!

Yesterday and Today

Lets see I should catch up for yesterday! I walked for 30 minutes, did 30 minutes of weights, and 30 minutes on the elliptical. Stayed right on track with eating. Today was a running day! 30 minutes and feeling awesome!! I still can't believe I am running! I got some new running shoes today too so I can't wait to give them a try next week. Also walked for 30 minutes. Again right on track with eating, in fact I need to go eat something because I still have 2 points left for the day...

MY SHINS WERE A LITTLE SOAR SO I GOT ON THE BIKE FOR ABOUT 10 MIN AFTER TO STRETCH THEM OUT AND I THINK THAT HELPED. NOW I HAVE TO CATCH UP TO MS " I CAN RUN FOR 25 MIN". (GRIN).

I LOVE Bob! LOL!

Bob Harper from Biggest Loser that is!! During the Biggest Loser show they always have "tips from the trainers" Bob's tip tonight was to make sure you have a CHEAT DAY! LOL!! WOHOO! BOB! Actaully he said it was a good idea because it switches things up and keeps you metobolism running instead of it slowing down when it gets used the same thing day after day! So now I don't have to feel guilty for having a cheat day because Bob said its OK! LOL!!

No cheat day today though! Right on with my points, I should have eaten some activity points since it was a running day but I never felt hungry to eat them. Thats all I got in today was the running. I am so looking forward to summer when school is out I am going to pretend I am at the Biggest Loser Campus and work out all day like they do! LOL!

Another new Week

Here it is again Sunday! Another week of staying focused and getting healthy. Went a little over points today not really since I just used my activity points so its ok. Yesterday was BAD!! Way over points! Today I ran for 25 minutes! It was such a struggle, it was so easy before but now its getting harder! Not sure what thats all about! But I am just going to take it slow and keep it up until I feel I am ready to bump up the time! Good luck to you all this week! YOU CAN DO IT!

I found all my old WW stuff this past week, so starting tomorrow I'm unofficially going back on WW. Can't really afford to go to the meetings and stuff, butt can certainal for sure do the program. With you guys as my support group, who needs anyone else.

Friday TMI~

Carla----Do it! Start running with Kimberely~!~!

Today I got in 30 minutes on the elliptical. I was right on with points so I did good there. Just hope it all pays off tomorrow when its weigh in time! I haven't been feeling so good the last few days and I am afraid of how that is going to effect the scale. 2 of the 3 meds I am on(post cancer/thyroid meds) have side effects of, I don't want to say it...uh...(((ssshhhh))) constipation. Well apparently I am experiencing the side effects. The last 2 days I have been taking some remedies(suggested by pharmacist) and its helping I just hope I am not retaining a bunch of ....well we won't go there...I have a gain on the scale! I truly don't think I can handle that right now! Sorry I now this was wayyyyyy tooo much info!

Walking

My daughter has informed me that I now have to start walking with her everyday and eventually start running with her. Yeah right!!!! The walking I can handle but running, I don't think so. Anyway, I now will be home every night and can get into some routine. I told Shawn that he needs to start walking with me because I am trying to train our puppy to heel. She is going to be his hunting dog, so I think he should be there. LOL Have a good day.

Repeat 25

Well today was day 4 of the 25 minute running which I did complete! Next week which will be Sunday I am supposed to bumped that up to 28 minutes. But right now I am seriously thinking about repeating the week and staying at 25 minutes. I have completed all the days of 25 but its been a struggle on all those days except one of them. So I don't feel like I am ready to add more time yet. I want to more comfortable with 25 before going to 28! I don't know, I may change my mind by the time Sunday comes around. Ate much better today still have a couple of points to eat and its getting late so I am not sure I will get them down.

Is it only Wednesday?

Man this week is dragging on forever! Lets see today I got in just a 15 minute walk(thanks to TAKS testing) 30 minutes of weight training and 30 minutes on the elliptical. My legs are SORE today! Ouch! I sure hope they feel better tomorrow, because its a running day. Did ok eating today! Could have been better, the principal had all kinds of snacks out to day for the testing and I dipped into the cheese and crackers a little bit, not alot but I did. I did avoid the chocolate stuff he had for us!

Updating Pounds Lost

I lost .8 last week (not too bad since I spent most of it in the ICU waiting room but, like I told Shelly, and I got a bravo sticker for, I didn't touch the vending machine). How do I change it on the side where Shelly put my goal of 40??

HERE I AM

Hello everyone, it's me, Kathy, the new kid in town. First let me say thanks for letting me share this journey with you. Second, does Shelly drive you guys crazy to. Everday it's "when are you going to get on"? What a nag?? You know I'm kidding. I love her more than chocolate (most days) and am so glad she and I met at WW and hope to meet you guys in person some day. You have to come visit and go to our meeting. I promise you will NEVER find a leader like Renny.

I have had a lot going on the last few weeks looking for a new job (thank God I got a great one), mother-in-law in hospital, daughter with kidney stone and just life stuff. Anway, I will be getting back on my exercise schedule because Shelly is such an inspiration.

I'm going to catch up on reading some of your blogs now but I promise to check in soon - and more often. If no other reason but to get Shelly off my butt (grin).

KC again

I am in KC again today and Manhattan tomorrow. This is my last overnight training, so am looking forward to going home. I did good on food yesterday, except I had a 3 muskateers bar. I don't usually eat sweets, but that was calling, then I didn't really enjoy it. Oh well, I will get better.

Hard

Today was a running day. Even though I didn't have to force myself to go like I did yesterday it was still hard. I got through the whole 25 minutes but my feet were dragging and I had to slow down the speed a few times. But the important thing is I finished it! 3 days now of running for 25 minutes! I am just shocked at what I have accomplished! My lower back is a little sore more from the weights I did after running so I taking as advil pm and going to bed.....

Forced but Done!

Today was not an easy day on the exercise front. Eating wise was good right on track(that seems to be the easy part MOST days) I got in 30 minutes at the gym lifting weights and 30 minutes on the elliptical, but it was far from easy today! I really had to force myself to do it, its actually cold here, its snowing of all things! So I really didn't want to go to the gym I just wanted to come home and cuddle up, but I didn't I went and did my weights! Then tonite after dinner Bruce and I got involved in rearranging the desks in the office trying to make more floor space, which we accomplished. But by the time we finished that I had lost any motivation I had for the elliptical so I again had to force myself to do it. I did,as I watched Young and the Restless and text messaged with Tonya! Made the time fly by! LOL! Hope tomorrow is an easier day since its a running day!

25 NO Stops, Up Hill

WOW I just can't believe I am actually doing this! Running! Me? But I am! Its crazy and I love it! Ran today for a straight 25 minutes! No stopping this time, not even for a few seconds! And up hill as well, Well OK not exactly up hill but I did have the incline at 1% for the whole time. I read some articles on treadmill training that said running on a flat treadmill is bad on the knees that you should at least run at a 1% incline plus it makes it more like running outside. I adjusted down at one point to flat and I could tell a BIG difference so I move it back up to 1% it actually felt more comfortable there! After running I did some leg weight training and stretching! Now I need a nap! LOL!

Nothing for me

No gain or loss for me either. I have found another job. I will be giving my 2 weeks notice tomorrow and will start my new job on March 24th. It is a training specialist job at underground vaults and storage. I will be home every night and be able to set my own hours. I can't wait.

Nothing

Nothing here! No loss No gain! Maintained! Irritated, annoyed and frustrated to work so hard for nothing! I think I am going to go take body measurements and keep track of that as well, I know this exercise has to pay off somewhere since its not in weight loss. Only problem with that is you really cant measure body measurements every week like weight loss so it doesnt give you any instant satisfaction. But I need something I am so discouraged!

First things first, down 1.2 pounds, not bad considering I really didn't do much this week. I let the frustration take over and didn't go to the gym all week and ate just about anything I wanted. I still ate my salads and not much sweets, but this would rate as a poor week in the diet and exercise portion of life.

I did go to the doctor and voice my frustration level with the slowness of the weight loss. He ran some blood test and everything came back normal. He gave me some medication for my hormone levels and said that it may help with the weight loss as well. I go back in a month to see if I'm getting better. On a good note he also said that 1 pound a week is what he likes to see in a weight loss program. Any more than then that comes back quickly if you go back to your old ways. So I guess I'm doing ok even though it seems really slow, I must keep telling myself that slow and steady wins the race.

I would like to have my goal loss to be 52 pounds, even though I have a 100+ that I want to loose I see now that for this year it is not a reasonable goal. If I stick with the plan and loose the 1 pound a week then I will meet my goal by the end of the year. Then the last 48 pounds will come off in 2009. I will just have to be on the 2 year plan.
